My name is Carina, and I am the founder of Liberation Lens, a non-profit initiative that emerged from my personal journey through the trauma of abuse. Like many, I have faced significant challenges and carried the weight of emotional baggage. This journey has led me to ask, “How do I unpack this?”—a question that has become central to my healing process.
Recognizing that many others share similar struggles, I felt a deep calling to create a space filled with compassion and resources for those who feel alone. Liberation Lens is my way of transforming my experiences into a source of hope and support for others. My mission is to provide a sanctuary for individuals to find understanding and access essential tools for their healing journeys.
As I work on building the website infrastructure to deliver these vital resources, I am excited to share that the Liberation app is set to launch on March 31st. This app will serve as an important tool for empowering survivors and raising awareness about the ongoing challenges they face as a result of abuse.
Now more than ever, as the country faces a recession and budget cuts threaten vital resources, victims of abuse are increasingly at risk and vulnerable. The timeframe for receiving support can often feel unreasonably long, leaving many without the help they desperately need. I invite you to be aware of those around you; statistics show that one in four women and one in seven men experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. This means that everyone knows someone who has endured the effects of abuse. Together, let’s foster a culture of awareness and compassion, ensuring that no one feels alone in their struggle.
Let’s create a community where every survivor is seen, heard, and supported.
Join the movement.
At Liberation Lens, I am committed to promoting and raising awareness about active petitions focused on the safety and rights of victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. By highlighting these initiatives, I aim to encourage community support and drive meaningful change for those affected. Together, we can amplify their voices and advocate for a safer environment.
The "Me Too" movement has profoundly transformed the landscape for victims and survivors of sexual assault and harassment. By fostering a culture of bravery and support, it has empowered countless individuals to come forward with their stories. At Liberation Lens, I celebrate this shift and strive to continue raising awareness, ensuring that every voice is heard and every experience acknowledged.
